Now Available: Government guaranteed, interest-free loansIf yours is an established, viable, for-profit small business and you could use some help paying off existing debt, then you should look into an America's Recovery Capital (ARC) bridge loan. These are interest-free, deferred-payment loans of up to $35,000 and are guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). As with all SBA financing programs, the ARC loans will be made by commercial lenders, not SBA directly. Credit Card Security Standard Under FireThe PCI security standard for credit card transactions came under fire at a recent Congressional hearing, with retailers on the attack and credit card companies on defense. PCI-compliance hasn't thwarted some high profile theft of customer credit card data from stores, according to testimony at the hearing. But more fundamentally, retailers questioned a system that makes them store card data instead of the banks - and take the bad publicity when the system fails. Visa's head of fraud control defended the reliability of PCI if retailers maintain compliance standards and said he constantly works with retailers to purge card data.
