You can easily find electrician programs online or close to you. Investing in your electrician education will better ensure your career placement and retention.

To determine if electrician education is for you:

1. Take a look at career opportunities in the electrician field. The pay may be what you want, but does the subject matter actually interest you? Your electrician job training comes at a monetary investment to you. Is it worth what you are trying to get out of it?

2. Assess your time management needs before committing to a program. Will you be a full-time student or part-time?

Consider an apprenticeship as a hands-on electrician education course of study.
Try:  Look at the training that the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee has to offer. The state of New Hampshire has its own apprentice information for electrical safety. The Tennessee Valley Authority offers an electrician apprentice program, as does the NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center. The NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center offers continuing education as well.

There are many electrician training search engine directories and programs available to you.
Try:  Find a directory of electrician trade school locations from Beelineweb.com. Study electrical technology at the Baran Institute. Check out the electrician program from the Penn Foster Career School. Consider electrician school from Lincoln College of Technology.

• Look for scholarship opportunities through the electrician training option of your choice, as well as through local and statewide programs.
• When looking at universities with electrician education and training, speak with both their faculty and their students. A school may be ranked as one of the best electrician training programs, but if their students don't feel that the experience has been rewarding for them, you might reconsider electrician.
