Ag-Chem Equipment Co., Inc. manufactures and distributes off-road equipment. The products are primarily used in fertilizing agricultural crops, the application of crop protection chemicals to crops, and to a lesser extent, industrial waste treatment applications and other industrial uses. Ag-Chem primarily manufactures three wheeled vehicles and four wheeled vehicles. A variety of systems are included on the chasis of the equipment to apply fertilizers and chemicals. Ag-Chem manufactures equipment for use both prior to planting crops and after crops emerge from the ground. The company operates 17 parts and service centers across the United States and Canada with an intention to provide customers a high level of service and responsiveness, thereby averting critical delays during periods of peak usage. Apart from this, its AgTec Division manufactures and sells different kinds of volume air sprayers. Equipment used in the waste application of industry is another product of the company. The company has designed software related to the Soilection process which enhances application equipment capability. The company manufactures and markets its products under the brand names of "Terra-Gator", "Big Wheels" and "Easy Rider" and "Magnum" . The products of the company are sold internationally through its wholly owned subsidiary as well as a network of distributors. During November 2000 the company announced it has agreed to be acquired by AGCO Corporation. During the year fiscal 2000, export sales accounted for 9.7% of total revenues.
