Company Description
Canfor Corporation. The Group's principal activities are the producing and supplying of forest products. The Group operates through four segments: Wood products, Pulp products, Pulp and Specialty Kraft paper and Coastal operations. These products produce and supply lumber, plywood, bleached kraft pulp and paper; semi-bleached and unbleached kraft pulp. The Group also provides hard board, baled fibre, fibre mat and moulded fibre items and a range of specialized wood products. The Group has woodlands operations and manufacturing facilities in British Columbia and Alberta as well as lumber re-manufacturing plant in Washington State. On 27-May-2003, the Group acquired Daaquam Lumber Inc and Produits Forestiers Anticosti Inc. The Group operates in the United States, Canada, Europe, Far East and other foreign countries. Wood products accounted for 64% of 2002 revenues; Pulp products, 22%; Pulp and specialty kraft paper, 8% and Coastal operations, 6%.
