Mafco Consolidated Group, Inc. formerly Abex Inc. is a holding company that currently operates in the tobacco products business. Tobacco products include cigars and pipe tobacco products manufactured and distributed by Consolidated Cigar and licorice extract and other flavoring agents manufactured and distributed by Mafco Worldwide. The company competes in all segments of the cigar industry and also manufactures smoking tobacco for sale under its own brand names and for sale in bulk to tobacconists as well as private label brands for mass market retailers and wholesale distributors. Abex and Mafco Holdings Inc. executed a merger agreement providing for the combination of Abex with two Holdings businesses: Mafco Worldwide Corporation and Consolidated Cigar Corporation. The combined company to be called Mafco Consolidated Group, Inc.
