The animal hospitals offer general, medical and surgical services to pet animals. The veterinary laboratories offer diagnostic and reference tests to diagnose, monitor and treat diseases in animals. Other operations of the company include marketing both a life-stage and a therapeutic line of premium pet foods through Vet's Choice, a joint venture with Heinz Pet Products, an affiliate of H.J. Heinz Company. The company acquired AAH Management Corp, 24 animal hospitals and 2 veterinary diagnostic laboratory during the year and 6 animal hospitals in Year 2000. Animal hospitals accounted for 68% of 1999 revenues and veterinary diagnostic laboratory, 32%.
