AmeriCredit Corp.. The Group's principal activity is to provide automobile finance services. The Group purchases auto finance contracts from franchises and makes loans to independent automobile dealers in connection with the sale of used and new automobiles. The Group services its automobile lending portfolio at regional centers using automated loan servicing and collection systems. The services include collecting and processing customer payments, responding to customer inquiries, maintaining the security interest in the financed vehicle, monitoring physical damage insurance coverage of the financed vehicle and arranging for the repossession. As at 30-Jun-2006, the Group operated 79 auto lending branch offices. The Group acquired stocks of BVAC, the auto finance subsidiary of Bay View Capital Corporation on 01-May-2006.
