The contracts are originated by franchised automobile dealers in the sale of new and used automobiles, light trucks and passenger vans. The Group serves as an alternative source of financing for dealers who generally would not qualify for automobile financing from traditional sources, such as commercial banks, credit unions and the captive finance companies affiliated with major automobile manufacturers. The Group's automobile financing programs are designed to serve sub-prime customers, who generally have limited credit histories, low incomes or past credit problems. The Group's servicing activities consist of collecting, accounting and posting of all payments received, responding to customer inquiries, investigating delinquencies and monitoring each contract and the related collateral.
