Akzo Nobel N.V.. The Group's principal activity is to manufacture diversified chemical products with activities in over 75 countries. The Group's activities are carried out through four divisions: Chemicals, Coatings, Pharmaceuticals and other. The chemicals division manufactures among others: polymer and rubber chemicals, fluid cracking and hydro processing catalysts, detergents, deicing and evaporated salt. The coating division produces paints, stains and synthetic resins for the industrial, professional and consumer markets. The pharmaceuticals division is engaged in oral contraceptives (Desogen, Mercilon), psychiatric drugs (Remeron, Risperdal) and non-prescription products such as pregnancy tests, analgesic creams, hay fever preparations and vitamins.
