Company Description
Millennium Chemicals Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to manufacture and market commodity, industrial, performance and specialty chemicals. It operates in three segments: Titanium Dioxide and related products, Acetyls and Specialty Chemicals. Titanium Dioxide and related products segment produces titanium dioxide, titanium tetrachloride and zirconia, silica gel and cadmium-based pigments. Acetyls segment produces vinyl acetate monomer and acetic acid. Specialty Chemicals segment produces terpene-based fragrance and flavor chemicals. In addition, the Group has a 29.5% interest in Equistar LP, which produces ethylene, polyethylene, performance polymers, oxygenated chemicals, aromatics and specialty petrochemicals. The Group has international operations in the United Kingdom, France, Asia-Pacific and Brazil. It exports its products to 90 countries. Titanium Dioxide and Related Products accounted for 69% of 2003 revenues; Acetyls, 25% and Specialty Chemicals, 6%
