The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the governing body of Network+ certification training classes, recommends that you have at least nine months experience in networking support. However, this is not a requirement for enrolling into Network+ certification training classes. After you have completed the Network+ certification training, you are required to take the exam. To pass this exam, you must score at least 554 out of a possible 900.
Before seeking Network+ certification, you should learn more about:
1. What you should receive in a Network+ training class.
2. Where to find reputable places to attend Network+ courses.
3. What you should study before taking the Network+ Certification exam.
Action Steps
The best contacts and resources to help you get it done
Make sure you fully inspect what the Network+ training course consists of
Find out whether the course is sponsored by CompTIA. If not, it's possible that the course may not be what you are looking for. You don't want to complete Network+ training sessions only to find they did not prepare you for the actual exam.
I recommend: CompTIA offers a list of places where you can receive accredited study materials. PrepLogic is great for getting you focused onto the right path.
Locate the best places to get Network+ training on the Internet
The Internet is a host for tons of information on Network+ classes. However, make sure you don't fall prey to an unethical company involved in scamming; make sure they will deliver by researching them carefully.
I recommend: For hands-on instruction, Boson offers an instructor-led course in Tampa, Fl. If you feel comfortable with taking online classes, The National Computer Science Academy has the class you need. If you prefer to study by book, Amazon has the book you will need. However, for free resources and study material on Network+, ProProfs is the perfect place.
Know what to expect when taking the Network+ Certification exam
Wouldn't it have been great if you were given the questions to a pop quiz before your grade school teacher began the test? Chances are you would have been more prepared. Make sure that you have a sample of the test to gauge how the questions will look once you begin your exam.
I recommend: CompTIA offers sample exam questions intended to measure the extent of your knowledge. SimulationExams.com also features sample tests to help you in your quest for Network+ certification.
