Handspring, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to provide handheld computers and wireless communication devices. It designs, manufactures and sells products in two major categories: handheld computers (organizers) and integrated handheld wireless devices (communicators). These products include various combinations of hardware, software and services. In June 2003, the Group announced the treo 600 smartphone design. The Treo 180 is an integrated device combining a mobile phone that operates on the GSM telecommunications standard, a personal organizer based on the Palm OS and wireless applications such as SMS, Internet access and email, all in a shirt pocket size form factor. In May 2002, the Group released the Treo Mail service, which for an additional charge, allows users to send and receive email from their Treo communicator as if they were working from their desktop computer.
