MMC Networks, Inc. develops and supplies network processing platforms used in the networking functions. The platforms consists of network processors and switch fabrics. Network processors are high performance, programmable processors used in the networking and communications applications. Switch fabrics are high capacity devices that provide interconnections among multiple processors or other devices. The products of the company include PS1000, ATM2000 and AF5000. The products allow rapid development of high performance, feature rich and cost effective products that support network functions. The major customers of the company are Cisco Systems, Inc., IBM Corporation, Mitsui Comtek Corp and Hitachi. The company became publicly held in 1997. Export sales accounted for 8% of 1999 revenues. The company incurred about $50,000 towards the Year 2000 compliance till date.
