Intevac, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and market of magnetic media used in hard disk drives and a developer and provider of technology for extreme low-light imaging sensors, cameras and systems. The Group operates in two segments: Equipment and Imaging. Equipment business designs, manufactures, markets and services complex capital equipment used in the sputtering, or deposition, of highly engineered thin-films of material onto magnetic disks which are used in hard disk drives. Imaging business develops and manufactures electro-optical sensors, cameras and systems that permit highly sensitive detection of photons in the visible and near infrared portions of the spectrum, allowing vision in extreme low light situations. Trademarks of the Group include LIVAR(R), D-STAR(R), NightVista(R), 200 Lean(R) and MOSIRTM. On 01-Feb-2007, it completed the acquisition of the assets and certain liabilities of DeltaNu, LLC.
