Adaptec, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and market storage access solutions that move, manage and protect critical data and digital content. The Group operates in three segments DPS, DSG and Others. The DPS group provides storage products RAID controllers, internal enclosures and stand-alone software. The DSG group provides high-performance I/O connectivity and digital media products for personal computing platforms, including notebook and desktop PCs. The Group operates in the United States, Singapore and other countries. On 31-Jan-2006, it signed a definitive agreement with Sanmina-SCI Corp and its wholly owned subsidiary, Sanmina-SCI, Inc. for the sale of it's OEM block-based systems. In fiscal 2006, it enhanced line of RAID controllers with the introduction of two Serial ATA II solutions for the PCI-X interface and three Serial Attached SCSI solutions.
