OKD a.s.(OKD). The Company's principal activities are detection, mining, treatment, refining and sale of pit-coal with low sulphur content and of other products related to coal production. The Company is the largest producer of pit-coal in the Czech Republic . The mining area covers 109,92 sq.km. The coal mined is of Jurassic age - carbon. The width of the coal deposits is between 0.7 and 6.5 meters. In accordance with the government regulation the profitable mining activities will terminate in 2025.
