In August 1999, Commonwealth Energy System merged with BEC Energy to form NSTAR. The Company generates, transmits and sells electricity in the United States. The company has a 3.52% interest in the Seabrook 1 nuclear power plant located in Seabrook, New Hampshire, to provide for a portion of the capacity and energy needs of Cambridge Electric Light Company and Commonwealth Electric Company which are retail distribution companies.
