Duquesne Light Company. The Group's principal activities are the transmission and distribution of electric energy. The Group operates in five segments: Electricity delivery, Electricity supply, Energy Solutions, Financial and Communications. The Electricity delivery segment provides transmission and distribution of electricity. The Electricity supply segment provides energy commodity contracts to supply energy to large commercial and industrial customers. The Energy Solutions provides energy facilities management and energy outsourcing solutions including operation and maintenance of synthetic fuel and energy facilities. The Financial segment provides structured finance and alternative energy investments solutions. The Communications segment operates and maintains a high-speed, fiber optic based metropolitan network, and leases dark fiber from the network to commercial, industrial and academic customers. As of December 2006, it discontinued the opeations of landfill gas business.
