Company Description
Environmental Power Corporation. The Group's principal activities are the development and ownership of electrical generating facilities powered by non-commodity fuels and renewable energy sources. The Group's power generating facilities use alternative fuels most of that are wastes, which are generally not subject to the same cost fluctuations as traditional fuels. The power generating facilities have also been able to exceed air quality emission standards and to assist with the clean-up of wastes that are sources of water pollution. The Group operates in two business segment: Scrubgrass project and Microgy. The Scrubgrass project is an approximate 83 megawatt waste coal-fired electric generating station located on a 600-acre site in Venango County, Pennsylvania. Microgy is engaged in the development and deployment of a proprietary technology for the extraction of methane gas from animal wastes and its use to fuel generation of energy.
