Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais(CEMIG). The Group's principal activities are the production, transformation, transmission, distribution and retail of electrical power and other related services. Its operations cover the industrial, commercial, residential and rural sectors in the state of Minas Gerais. The Group also operates in the area of natural gas and telecommunication through an integrated system of optical fibre cables, coaxial cables and electronic and associated equipment. The system allows the transmission of cable TV signals, Internet, Web TV etc. It operates through partnerships with the operators of these services. In 2005, the Group had a total of 49 hydroelectric and 4 thermoelectric plants with 6,009,987 customers.
