Montana Power Co. The Principal activities of the Group are in the regulated utility operations involving the generation, purchase, transmission and distribution of electricity and natural gas. The non utility operations principally involve the mining and sale of coal and lignite, exploration, development, production, processing and sale of oil and natural gas, and the sale of telecommunication equipment and services. It also develops, owns and operates a high-speed fiber optic network spanning 28 states and approximately 18,000 route miles. The company also provides wireless services mainly through Personal Communication Services (PCS) and Local Multi-Point Distribution Services(LMDS). The Group provides colocation services and construction management oversight services for installation of fiber networks. Products marketed are, wholesale bandwidth sales and leasing, dark fibre and conduit rights, private line services, optical wave services, packet-based data services, etc.
