Northeast Utilities Incorporated. The Group's principal activity is to transmit, distribute and market electricity. The Group operates in five segments: Electric, Enterprises, Gas, Transmission and Other. The Group also markets natural gas and oil to wholesale and retail customers. The Group also provides energy-related operations, maintenance services and consulting services to large and medium-sized industrial businesses, including engineering and design, construction management, asset development, due diligence reviews and environmental regulatory compliance and permitting services. The Group operates in 419 cities in Connecticut, New Hampshire and western Massachusetts. During 2005, the Group discontinued the operations of SESI, SECI-NH, Woods Network and Woods Electrical. Electric sales accounted for 73% of 2006 gross revenues; Enterprises, 13 %; Gas, 6%; Transmission, 3% and Other, 5%
