Company Description
Northwestern Corporation(NWPS). The Group's principal activity is to provide integrated energy, communications, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing services and solutions. It operates in five segments. The Electric segment distributes and transmits electricity and the Natural gas segment purchases, transports, distributes and stores natural gas in Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska. The Communications segment provides networked communications, data solutions and services to businesses. The HVAC segment provides repair, replacement and maintenance services and products for HVAC and plumbing systems in homes and commercial businesses. The Retail and Wholesale propane segments distributes propane for residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural uses. On 15-Feb-2002, the Group acquired The Montana Power Company's energy distribution and transmission business. Electric and Natural gas accounted for 39% of 2002 revenues; Communications, 36%; HVAC, 24% and Other, 1%.
