Company Description
Southwestern Electric Power Company. The Company's principal activities are to generate, transmit and distribute electric power to approximately 450,000 retail customers in northeastern Texas, northwestern Louisiana and western Arkansas. The Company also sells electric power at wholesale to other electric utility companies, municipalities, rural electric cooperatives other market participants. The principal industries served by the Company are natural gas and oil production, petroleum refining, manufacturing of pulp and paper, chemicals, food processing, and metal refining. The territory served by the Company also includes several military installations, colleges, and universities. The Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Electric Power Co Inc.
