Company Description
West Texas Utilities Company. The Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Electric Power Company Inc. The Company generates, purchases, transmits and distributes electricity and power. Natural gas and coal are the main sources for power generation activities of the Company. The Company also purchases power from outside sources. The Company supplies electric power to 190,000 customers in west and central Texas and also at wholesale to other utilities , municipalities and rural electric cooperatives. The principal industry served by the Company is agriculture and it also has several military installations and correctional facilities.
