Electric Fuel Corporation. The Group's principal activities are to design, develop and market zinc-air technology for primary and reusable battery systems. The Group operates in two segments: Defense and security products and Electric fuel batteries. The defense and security segment develops and markets water-activated lifejacket lights for commercial aviation and marine safety. The Electric fuel batteries segment produces Zinc-Air fuel cell packs for the U.S. Army's Communications Electronics Command. In July 2002, the Group acquired substantially all of the assets of I.E.S. Electronics Industries U.S.A., Inc. and 51% of the outstanding shares of MDT Protective Industries Ltd. Defense and security products accounted for 74% of 2002 revenues and Electric fuel batteries, 26%.
