Company Description
Alabama Gas Corporation. The Company's principal activities are to distribute and transport natural gas in the state of Alabama. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Energen Corporation. It purchases natural gas through interstate suppliers and marketers and distributes it to residential, commercial, industrial and other end-users. There are two main service categories under which gas is supplied to customers namely, interruptible and firm. The Company serves approximately 178 cities and communities in 28 counties in Central and North Alabama. During 2006, the Company served an average of 420,558 residential customers and 34,456 commercial, industrial and transportation customers. The distribution system of the Company includes 10,100 miles of main and more than 11,800 miles of service lines, odorization and regulation facilities and customer meters. The Company also operates two liquified natural gas facilities. Distributes & transports natural gas to residential, commercial, industrial & other end-users of natural gas located in Alabama
