Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. The Group's principal activities are to explore, develop, produce and market oil and gas. It operates in three segments: Oil and Gas Exploration, Marketing and Midstream and a Minerals Business. The Oil and Gas segment explores and produces natural gas, crude, oil, condensate and natural gas liquids. The Marketing and Minerals segment is responsible for selling natural gas production as well as purchased volumes of third-party gas and oil. The Minerals segment explores and produces minerals in several coal, industrial minerals and trona (natural soda ash) mines. The Group's major areas of operations are located in The Rocky Mountains, the deep water Gulf of Mexico, the southern area of the United States and Internationally. As of 31-Dec-2006, the Group had 3.0 billion barrels-equivalent of proved reserves. In August 2006, Anadarko acquired Kerr-McGee Corporation and Western Gas Resources, Inc. in separate transactions.
