Barnwell Industries, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are to explore, develop, produce and market oil and natural gas primarily in Canada. It operates in four business segments: Oil and Natural Gas, Land Investment, Contract Drilling and Other. Oil and Natural Gas segment engages in oil and natural gas exploration, development, production and sales primarily in Canada. Land Investment segment invests in leasehold land in Hawaii. Contract Drilling provides well drilling services, contract labor servicing for geothermal well drilling and workovers, and water pumping system installation and repair in Hawaii. It sells substantially all of its oil and natural gas liquids production under short-term contracts between itself and marketers of oil. The Group operates in the United States and Canada. Oil and Natural Gas accounted for 67% of fiscal 2006 gross revenues; Land Investment, 22%; Contract Drilling, 10%; and Other, 1%
