Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to provide onshore contract drilling services to major and independent oil and natural gas operators. The Group operates in four segments: Contract Drilling, Pressure Pumping Services, Drilling and Completion Fluids Services and Oil and Natural Gas. As on 30-Dec-2006, the Group owned 336 drilling rigs. The operations are conducted in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota and Western Canada. Pressure pumping services consists of well stimulation and cementing for completion of new wells and remedial work on existing wells. Oil and natural gas operators use drilling and completion fluids during the drilling process to control pressure. The Group also develops, explores, acquires and produces oil and natural gas.
