Reading & Bates Corporation provides contract drilling services in major offshore oil and gas producing areas worldwide. The company's offshore drilling fleet consists of 9 international class jack-up drilling units, 5 semisubmersile drilling units and 2 self-erecting drilling tenders. Two of the company's rigs are located in the Gulf of Mexico and the rest are in various parts of the world including the North Sea and waters offshore India, Australia, China, Gabon, Greece, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Tunisia and the U.K. Foreign operations account for 89% of 1995 revenues and United States, 11%.
