Arabian American Development Company. The Group's principal activity is to refine specialty petrochemical products and develop mineral properties in the United States, Saudi Arabia and Mexico. The Group operates in two business segments: Specialty Petrochemicals and Mining. The Specialty Petrochemicals segment activities are mainly conducted through its wholly owned subsidiary, American Shield Refining Company, which owns and operates specialty petrochemical products refinery near Silsbee, Texas, which manufactures pentanes. The specialty petrochemical refinery in Mexico produces high purity solvents that are used in the expandable polystyrene and polystyrene foam industries. The Specialty Petrochemicals segment sells its products and services to companies in the chemical and plastics industries. Mining segment includes exploration and development works in the Al Masane area in Saudi Arabia.
