The Coastal Corporation and subsidiaries is a diversified energy holding company with operations in natural gas gathering, marketing, processing, transmission and storage; petroleum refining, marketing and distribution and chemicals; gas and oil exploration and production; coal mining and power production. The company has operations in the United States, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Hungary, Indonesia and Peru. The company's pipeline facility consists of 10,580 miles of pipeline and 75 compressor stations with 1,022,217 installed horsepower. During 1999 the company has acquired Transcanada Gas Processing and Gilmore processing plant. Refining, marketing and chemicals accounted for 73% of 1999 revenues; natural gas, 15%; exploration and production, 7%; coal, 3%; power, 2% and corporate and other, nominal.
