Company Description
Deutsche BP Holding AG (BP), the German unit of British Petroleum Company plc., refines and markets petroleum products, such as motor petroleum, diesel oil, fuel oil and lubrication oils. In 1996, BP (Germany) sold 13.1 million metric tonnes of petroleum products, of which 4.0 million metric tonnes of motor petroleum, 2.7 million metric tonnes of diesel oil and 3.3 million metric tonnes of fuel oil were sold on the German market. By the end of the same year, the company operated 1,347 petrol stations. 300 of these stations contained a BP Express Shop, and approximately 130 of these shops a fast food zone, "Petit Bistro". BP (Germany) operates by the quality control management standards DIN ISO 9002 and DIN ISO 9001, and several of the company's divisions are certified accordingly. BP (Germany) has domestic subsidiaries only. Petroleum products accounted for 94% of 1996 revenues; chemical products, 5% and other sales, 1%.
