Sempra Energy. The Group's principal activities are provide electric, natural gas and other energy products and services to its customers. it operates in five segments: Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), Sempra Commodities, Sempra Generation and Sempra Pipelines and Storage. SoCalGas segment provides natural gas service throughout Southern California and portions of central California. Electric service is provided throughout San Diego County and portions of Orange County, both in Southern California. Sempra Commodities is markets and trades physical and financial commodity products. Sempra Generation generates electricity that it sells under long-term contracts and into the spot market or other competitive markets. Sempra Pipelines and Storage's natural gas pipeline operations will be dependent on supplies of natural gas from their transportation customers. It operates in North America, Europe and Asia.
