Casella Waste Systems Inc. The Group's principal activity is to provide vertically integrated regional solid waste services in the United States. The Group's solid waste services provides collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services to residential, industrial and commercial customers. The Group's commercial and industrial collection services are performed under one-to-three-year service agreements. The transfer stations receive, compact and transfer solid waste collected from various collection operations and transport to disposal facilities by larger vehicles. The recycling facilities receive, sort, bale and resell recyclable materials. As of 31-May-2006, the Group owns and operates nine Subtitle D landfills, two landfills permitted to accept construction and demolition materials, 39 solid waste collection operations, 33 transfer stations, 39 recycling facilities and one waste-to-energy facility.
