Anglo American Platinum Corp (old)

Anglo American Platinum Corporation Limited ("Amplats") in conjunction with its wholly owned subsidiary, Amplats Management Services (Proprietary) Limited ("AMS") is primarily a platinum mining house which holds major interests in Rustenburg Platinum Holdings Limited (32.7%), Potgietersrust Platinums Limited (30.08%) and Lebowa Platinum Mines Limited (27.7%) and also holds management contracts with each of these companies. Amplats, together with the three mining companies, is the world's major primary producer of platinum and other platinum group metals. The group is one of three companies created as a result of the restructuring of the former Johannesburg Consolidated Investments Ltd which became effective in January 1995 and Amplats first became listed on the Johannesburg stock exchange in May 1995.
