Company Description
American Opportunity Trust PLC. The Group's principal activity is that of an Investment Trust Company. The objective of the Group is to provide shareholders with capital growth through investment in securities issued principally by North American companies. The Group is an Investment Company within the meaning of Section 266 of the Companies Act 1985. The Group has been approved by the Revenue and Customs as an Investment Trust for the purposes of Section 842 of the Income & Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for the year ended 31-Jan-2006.Investment management services are provided by North Atlantic Value LLP for a fee calculated at the rate of 0.75% per annum (plus VAT) of the total assets less current liabilities (excluding bank loans) payable annually in arrears on 31 December. The agreement is terminable by either party upon the expiry of not less than two years' written notice. Operates as an Investment Trust Company
