Santander Bancorp. The Group's principal activities are that of a commercial bank, providing banking services through its wholly owned subsidiary, Banco Santander Puerto Rico. The Group operates in four segments: Commercial Banking, Mortgage Banking, Treasury and Investments and Broker-dealer. Commercial Banking segment focuses on satisfying the total financial needs of its customers through specialized retail and wholesale banking services. Mortgage Banking involves the origination and servicing of residential mortgage loans. The Investment segment handles the Investment portfolio and liquidity position. Broker dealer segment offers a complete range of products and services as part of an overall wealth management program that includes asset management and other trust services. The Group operates through a network of 64 branches in Puerto Rico and 149 ATMs. On 01-Mar-2006, the Group acquired substantially all of the assets and business operations of Island Finance. Provides a wide range of financial products and services through its subsidiaries
