Interbanca SpA. The Group's principal activity is the provision of finance and banking services. The group also provides general investment advice and insurance services. The provision of finance to industry is in turn financed by the issue of certificates of deposit and bond loans sold to the public and listed on the Stock Exchange. The company also operates as a merchant bank and is involved in the acquisition of minority interests in other companies, underwriting increases in share capital and through the conversion of bond loans. Interest income accounted for 65% of 2002 revenues; dividend income, 20%; commission fees, 12% and other, 3%.
