Amsouth Bancorporation. The Group's principal activity is to provide banking services. The services are provided under three segments: Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. Consumer banking provides financial services to individuals and small businesses like residential mortgages, equity lending, credit cards and loans for automobile and other personal financing needs and various products. Commercial banking provides specialty services such as real estate finance, asset based lending and commercial leasing. Wealth management segment is comprised of trust, institutional, retirement, private client services and broker-dealer services. The operations are conducted through 700 branch banking offices located in Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia. It also operates a network of 1,200 automated teller machines. Provides consumer banking, commercial banking and asset management services through 675 offices
