Peoples Holding Company (The). The Group's principal activities are to provide diversified range of banking services to retail and commercial customers. The Group operates through The Peoples Bank and Trust Company and Peoples Insurance Agency. The services provided by the Group include checking and savings accounts, business and personal loans, interim construction and residential mortgage loans, student loans, equipment leasing, safe deposit and night depositary facilities. The other services include fiduciary services and administering of qualified retirement plans, profit sharing and other employee benefit plans, personal trusts and estates. The customers of the Group include individuals and small and medium-sized businesses. The Group's operations are conducted through 24 community banks and 40 offices in Mississippi.
