Company Description
F & M National Corporation(FMNT). The principal activities of the Group is to provide full banking services that include financial services such as deposit accounts, commercial, consumer and mortgage lending; insurance; and trust services. The Company acquired State Bank of Alleghenies and 15 banking offices in 2000. Community Bankshares of Maryland Inc was acquired in 2001. Interest and fees on loans accounted for 58% of 2000 revenues; other interest income, 23% and non-interest income, 19%.
