Bank of Granite Corporation. The Group's principal activities are that of a commercial bank. The Group accepts demand, savings and money market deposit accounts and provides real estate construction, mortgage, commercial, financial, agricultural and consumer loans. The Group conducts its business through three reportable business segments: Community Banking, Mortgage Banking and Other. The Group operates twenty-two full-service banking offices in eight North Carolina counties--Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Forsyth, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Watauga, and Wilkes. The mortgage banking business is conducted through 14 offices in the Cumberland, Guilford and Rowan counties in North Carolina. The Group's majority of customers are individuals and small businesses. Provides consumer, commercial and mortgage banking services in North Carolina and Jilton Head Island
