Metropolitan Financial Corp.. The Group's principal activities are to originate and purchase mortgage and other loans. The Group operates through three segments: retail and commercial banking, mortgage banking and parent and other. Retail and commercial banking accepts deposits and lends those funds to businesses and consumers. The segment operates through 24 retail offices in Northeastern Ohio. Mortgage banking originates sells and services permanent or construction loans secured by one- to four-family residential properties. These loans are primarily originated through commissioned loan officers located in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Parent and other segment includes corporate treasury, interest rate risk and financing operations, which do not generate revenue from outside customers. Retail and Commercial banking accounted for 65% 2002 revenues; Mortgage banking, 24% and Parent and other, 11%. Accepts deposits and provides financial services through its offices in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania
