Company Description
Household Finance Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to provide consumer lending products to middle-market customers, primarily in the United States. The Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Household International, Inc. The main operating segment of the Group is consumer financing. The Group offers real estate secured loans, private label and auto finance businesses, domestic Mastercard and Visa credit cards. Other services provided include tax refund anticipation loans, specialty insurance, commercial loans and leases, periodic payment annuities and other types of unsecured loans. On March 28, 2003, Household was acquired by HSBC Holdings plc by way of merger with H2 Acquisition Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC, in a purchase business combination.
