National Auto Credit, Inc. is a specialized finance company providing cash advances, receivables management and collections for used car dealers who make sub-prime autoloans. The company had a servicing portfolio of $500 million with a network of 3,100 independent dealers operating in 1996. National Auto Credit began as a car rental business, the rental fleet was disposed of in 1996 and as supply of rental automobiles were depleted the dealership operations were discontinued accordingly. The company will concentrate on financial services segment in the future. Interest income accounted for 89% of 1996 revenues; fees and other income, 11%.
