The Group manages portfolio of federally insured student loans totaled approximately $64.5 billion (including loans owned and loans securitized). During the year, the Company acquired the guarantee servicing, student loan servicing and secondary market operations of USA Group, Inc. The name of the Company was changed from SLM Holding Corporation to the present one in July 2000. Interest income accounted for 86% of 2000 revenues and investment income, 14%.
