PawnMart, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to operate specialty finance and retail enterprise stores. These stores advance money secured by the pledge of tangible personal property and sell pre-owned merchandise to the value-conscious consumer. Collateral for pawn loans includes tangible personal property, generally jewelry, consumer electronics, tools and musical instruments. It retails pre-owned products acquired either when a pawn loan is not repaid or from individual customers or other sources. As of 30-Jun-2002, the Group operated 23 stores in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. On 09-Jul-2001, the Group filed for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. Merchandise sales accounted for 70% of 2001 revenues; Pawn service charges, 29% and Other, 1%.
