The Group's principal activity is that of running a betting market on commodities, financial futures, traded options, individual shares and stock indices and a wide range of sporting events, trading as a principal and market maker to its clients in the foreign exchange market and in contracts for differences on shares. The Group hedges, as considered appropriate, unmatched bets and trades in futures, traded options, individual shares and foreign exchange to ensure that it is not unacceptably exposed to material losses.
